Our Cats

To date, Tabby Town has rescued almost 6,000 and adopted out over 5,500 cats and kittens. At any given time, there are usually about 50 cats for adoption. In addition, we care for many, many permanent residents (cats with Diabetes, kidney failure, senior cats, deaf cats) and several unadoptable cats waiting for farm homes. The cats all live in loving foster homes. We use very few cages. Most of the cats reside underfoot with the family. We know our cats quite well!

Upon intake, cats are tested for FIV (Feline Aids) and FeLV (Feline Leukemia). They are treated for any illness, parasites (worms, ticks, fleas, ear mites), vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Adoptable kittens too young to be spayed/neutered will be sent to their new adopted home with a voucher for their future surgery and Rabies vaccination, which is included in the adoption fee of $150.00.

Tabby Town uses the services of Dr. Dennis Knight at Coulee Mobile Veterinary Clinic of Coon Valley and several area veterinarians and Alter-Ations Inc. Without their dedication to Tabby Town and their confidence in us, we would not exist.

Farm Cats

Tabby Town cares for many cats that would make great additions to horse or dairy farms, or as outdoor cats for your country home. All are sterilized, tested and vaccinated just like our adoptable cats. Some are friendly and just prefer to be outdoors part of the time. Others are semi-feral and would make great mousers. We don’t charge our standard adoption fee for farm cats, but would certainly appreciate a monetary donation!

Did you know that it’s a MYTH that farm cats can live on mice alone? It is essential that they have cat food and fresh water daily. Well-fed cats will still hunt rodents — It’s in their nature!

Tabby Town will provide information and guidance throughout the relocation process.

Please help us place some of our unadoptable cats. They deserve to be happy somewhere. Spread the word to your co-workers, friends and relatives with horses, cows or goats.
